Judging Ended, winners are known!

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

The judging has (finally) come to an end, I hope you didn’t grow tired of the waiting. We sure grew tired of all the numbers and data, but at last we finished it, and the winners are soon to be announced.

We can already say that the top 5 (or so) is a pretty close call, as is always the case with contests like these, but we think that the judging went perfectly fair, and that everyone has been dealt the points they were entitled to receive.

Expect a neat page soon with the best 20 works, all with a little commentary added to it by some judges, we hope you are looking forward to it!

Judging Halted: One Judge Short!

Sunday, October 7th, 2007

UPDATE: Luckily for us, the position has already been filled! Expect an announcement with some information about the new judge soon!

In the middle of the judging process, one of our judges has decided not to be a judge anymore. He made clear when we had contact that maybe he would be unable to judge, and that’s why you haven’t seen an announcement post about this judge.

So now we’re in a little trouble here at lildragon.eu: all the scoring process was carefully calculated for 5 judges, namely Epo, lildragon, Sythiar and Saiyagina. The one judge we are missing right now, should be someone that can be described as a Zelda Artist.

The profile we are looking for is: You are an artist who loves to draw fanart, especially Zelda fan-art. Preferably, you have played a lot of Zelda games, and you know what the Zelda look and feel is about. Needless to say, you can’t have competed in this contest to apply to be a judge (unless you disqualify yourself of course). If you think you got what it takes, please help us out and mail us at epo [at] chello [dot] be, or leave a comment.

The contest has ended!

Monday, October 1st, 2007

After uploading the last artworks we found in our mailbox, the contest is now officially over. We will not accept any artwork from now on, and the judging process will begin very soon.

First we’ll have to contact all our judges and explain to them very carefully how to judge all the artworks. Then the judging process itself begins, this could take a couple of days. Then a post will be made about the winners, and soon after that, a page will be made with the 30 (or so) best works, with a little information.

Stay tuned and let us know what you think by commenting!

24 hours left!

If you are reading this, it means that you have less than 24 hours to submit your artwork. October 1 2007, 12:00 UTC, the submissions will be closed, and the judging process will begin. There will still be activity on this site regarding the chibi wallpapers, or other things, but no other submissions will be posted.

If you are still working on your entry, please hurry and send it as soon as possible. A deadline is a deadline and we can’t accept submissions sent in after the deadline.

Right now it is 4 days, 4 hours, 46 minutes and 40 seconds until Monday, October 1, 2007 at 12:00:00 Noon (UTC time). Next Wallpaper winner… Shad!

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

First of all, the winner is Shad, not … Chad like I thought it was writting before. Sorry the mistake ;-)

You may have noticed that the previous wallpaper contest’s winner Zelda hasn’t gotten her wallpaper yet, but that will be taken care of. Life and school is very busy right now, but I will be making the Zelda wallpaper first, and after that Shad will get his wallpaper.

Because I’m a little behind, there will not be another poll right now. Thanks for your understanding!

The Contest is coming to its end…

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

Just a reminder to all our visitors: the contest is about to end! The contest will end the 1st of October. There will be a strict deadline for the artworks to be submitted. You have to submit your artwork before October 1st 12:00 UTC. Please don’t try to play with this deadline and submit your artwork last minute. If you have it ready now, avoid disputes and submit it right away.

Keep those submissions coming, only a few days are left!

New Judge: SaiyaGina!

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

We are proud to announce that we have a new judge on our team: SaiyaGina!

SaiyaGina: 22 years old, currently graduated from Graphic Design carreer, willing to get a major in Illustration the next years, but now she’s working in various projects as an illustrator and comic artist, in Europe, the USA and Mexico. Her aspirations for the future are to get involved in a magazine as a illustrator and/or editorial designer, and also to develop her own manga publications, or drawing comics for publishers. She’s a great appreciator of art, especially of coloring. I don’t judge the technique used, if it’s cell shaded, soft shaded or more like a painting, but I judge on how it was made, the effort taken, and the color scheme, you can tell the feeling of art more from the color scheme, than the detailing itself, which isn’t disregarded, of course the detail of the coloring, such as the volume, the light sources, shadows, and the contrasts are very important, I’ll judge the whole content. As a Zelda fan, I’m very into to the magic that the color plays not only in characters, but also the whole scenes that get involved around them to create that taste of legend.

10k thanks!
