Rules and Guidelines

Updated: DO NOT NOTE LILDRAGON ON DEVIANTART TO SUBMIT YOUR WORK, WE CAN’T KEEP TRACK OF THE SUBMISSIONS OTHERWISE

These are the rules and guidelines for the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Contest. Read them carefully if you are planning to participate! (Updated August 1st!)

  • Start and End date: We have considered the start date as May 30th. To avoid any confusing, your art must be made AFTER May 30th, otherwise you can just submit old artwork, which is not the goal of this contest. The end date has not yet been decided, but the contest will last for about 4 months. That means the end will be somewhere around the beginning of october, giving everyone plenty of time to create their artwork(s). If you want advice on your work, please don’t hesitate to ask advice on this forum. There are many people willing to help you improve your work. Please post in the Share Your Art forum, and use this for a title (example): “[Contest] Link and Ganondorf go for a walk”. Thanks!
  • The contest will be a Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess contest. You can draw whatever character you want from the game (including animals, townspeople, NPC, enemies, bosses, anything). However, the artwork needs to have at least one of these, and not just an empty scenery. There is no limit of amount of characters in the artwork. The amount of contest entries is unlimited. The work does not need to be coloured, but it needs to have a certain level of completeness: Please do not submit sketches or doodles. A greyscale highdetail pencil drawing does qualify, though.
  • Please try to stick as close to the Zelda theme AND story as possible. This means that we cannot allow artworks with OC’s mixed with Zelda characters. Not as a decorative figure, and certainly not as a couple. To allow some kind of freedom, you can slightly alter costumes, weaponry, setting, situations amongst other things.
  • Give your artwork a distinctive name that we can use to seperate it from others when we post the artwork, or when it appears in the lists afterwards. First come, first served obviously. If you picked a name that was already taken, you’re out of luck ;-). Examples of good titles are: “Kakariko Chilling”, “Goron Double Trouble”. Bad names are “Link”, “Uh-oh” and “sumthin”.
  • Obviously, since we are all decent people, please refrain from pseudo-art like furry, hentai, yuri, yaoi, bestiality or other sexual tentative works. If you are unsure wether your artwork would be over the top or not, PM one of the Administrators (Epo or lildragon).

  • The Scoring System is explained in detail here.
  • UPDATED: If your artwork is complete, how can you get it to us? There are several ways, but DO NOT NOTE LILDRAGON ON DEVIANTART TO SUBMIT YOUR WORK, WE CAN’T KEEP TRACK OF THE SUBMISSIONS OTHERWISE:
Method 1: Mail it as an attachment to my e-mail address, which is epo [at] chello [dot] be.
    Questions? Use this topic!
Method 2: Upload it somewhere (Imageshack, Photobucket, it doesn’t matter). Then mail me the link to it so I can download it and upload it to my server.
Method 3: Upload it to our FTP server at http://www.lildragon.eu. Use whatever FTP client you like (I recommend http://www.smartftp.com). The server is “www.lildragon.eu”, the user is “tpcontest” and the pass is (case sensitive!) “LoZTP1337″. That is uppercase L, lowercase o, uppercare Z, T and P, and then 1337. If you manage to log in, you’ll only have access to that directory, which is fine. However, you do have the ability to delete other’s work. Please refrain from doing so, because if you do, I’m going to have to ban you. Upload your work on our server and mail me the filename. Simple as that.
  • When you submit your artwork, please provide the following details that can be posted together with your entry:
Title: The title of your work
Artist: Your nickname, or your real name, or both
Artsite: A site where people can see more of your artwork (e.g. dA, Elfwood, Sheezyart, personal site). If not applicable, disregard
Medium: What programs/materials did you use to make this artwork?
Time: How much time did it (approximately) take?
